The Importance of Defining Your Business Vision

My life is a mess. If you go in my closet you won’t find your way out 😂 . BUT, business-wise I’m the most organized person you will ever see.

You know why?

It’s because I know where I am now and where I want to be. I have a clear business vision.

That’s super important if you want to be successful and grow your brand, especially online.

Brainstorm your Vision

Before sitting down to write your vision, it’s a good idea to brainstorm ideas. Focus on the future and where you want to be. Imagine how far your business can go.

Here are some of the questions I asked myself when developing my vision:

〰️ Why did I start my business

〰️ What’s my main goal for my business?

〰️ What are my core values?

〰️ What’s my differentiator?

Answering those questions will help you start developing your own business vision.

Define your goals

After exploring your business vision, it’s time to define your goals, after all, there’s no point on creating a vision if you don’t know how to get there. The goals will help you move one step closer to turn your vision into a reality.

Your goals need to be SMART:

Specific

Measurable

Achievable

Realistic, and

Timely

What it means is that your goals can’t be something like “grow my business”, it has to be “grow my business 10% every quarter”.

Did you see the difference? By including numbers and date your goals will be more achievable.

Create Micro Goals

When I look at the big picture I feel very overwhelmed! How am I suppose to grow by business in 10% if I don’t know how to do that?

It’s really important to break your goals into “micro goals”, aka, smaller, manageable pieces of goals.

It will help you see exactly where to focus and how to achieve what you want. More than that, micro goals create a sense of accomplishment, which in return, makes you more motivated to keep looking for more ways to grow your business.

Get organized

The most important way to make sure your activities are aligned with your business vision and goals is to stay organized. There’s no point in writing down your strategy if you will lose the paper.

I’m always searching for new ways of keeping myself organized, and I love online apps and digital things. I use Trello and Notion for everything! It connects to your computer, phone, iPad, etc so it’s really helpful!
